What I teach: Meditative Hatha, Gentle, Beginners 101, Slow and Mindful Flow
My current Anahata classes and workshops include: Mindful Flow: a ‘work-in’ class meant to build heat and encourage the meditative aspect of the practice
Why I teach: Very simply, because I love it. I love providing a space which someone can discover all the things that make them unique. I am so passionate about what yoga has brought to my life and it is a joy to share that with others.
My classes are: meant to provide a safe place for students to explore the beautiful universe that lies within them and to discover new levels of aliveness. My classes are judgment-free and accommodating to multiple levels with a focus on safe anatomical alignment, pranayama and meditation.
What brought me to yoga: Yoga was part of my dance training as a teen-ager in the 90′s. After injuries that ended my dance pursuit, I turned to various styles of yoga for a number of years before finally finding a home with Pranakriya Yoga. I practice yoga now to be healthy, strong and expansive in body, mind and spirit and to continue to learn new things about myself and the world around me.
Favorite pose (and why): Belly down boat- Navasana. I love that strengthening the muscles of the back body can do so much for overall posture and wellness on and off the mat. There is so much sensation and challenge in this posture which can appear quite simple to an onlooker. I love how much it can teach me about my limitations and my strengths and how much they can change so much from day to day.
Off the mat, I: enjoy going to the beach, hiking with my husband and daughter, baking, sewing, drawing, gardening and finding new adventures. I also work as an operations manager for a coffee roaster as my day job.
Inspiration: My husband and daughter inspire me every day with their love, creativity and passion for life.
