Melissa Brown

Who I am: A beach-loving, yoga-obsessed mom, wife, and friend.

What I teach:  Hatha and Pre-Natal Yoga

My current classes and workshops include: Pre-Natal Yoga

Why I teach:  Yoga changed my life. It changed how I viewed my place in this world. Once I started practicing, I knew that teaching would be part of my path.

My classes are: Gentle, but playful – with a lot of modifications and props – because the opportunities for us to play as yogis are endless! My goal is for you to connect more deeply with your baby, as well as your changing body, and embrace all the wonders pregnancy has to offer!

What brought me to yoga:  I found yoga as a way to get into shape after my first pregnancy. And then, I fell off that wagon trying to wrangle a toddler and manage a second pregnancy! After my second child’s birth, I became reconnected – slowly at first – with yoga. Once I found my groove with my home practice, I ventured into a studio with great trepidation. What I found was nothing but love, acceptance and joy. Since then, I have never looked back. Yoga has become less of a “workout” and more of a “work-in” for me – I have connected with my body, mind, and spirit in ways that are unimaginable.

Favorite pose (and why):  Pigeon. I love it and I loathe it. It is such a powerful pose; some days, I am not ready for what it brings me and other days, I embrace it fully! It has been my game-changer.

Off the mat, I: am a mom and wife – and have a beautiful family; stand-up paddleboard (SUP); play around with SUP Yoga; snowboard and longboard with my two groms; tinker in the kitchen – I LOVE to cook; find solace in my hammock with a good book or great music; am a devoted friend; am a proofreader for a pharmaceutical company; do all things with love – but I always bring band-aids – just in case!
