What I teach: Gentle Hatha yoga and Prenatal yoga.
My current classes and workshops include: Prenatal Yoga, and subs for Gentle yoga classes.
Why I teach: I teach because I like bringing the gift of the practice to others. I love to be able to inspire students the way yoga teachers inspire me. I have gained a greater sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance since I started practicing that have changed my life and all I want to do is bring others the peace that comes with practice.
My classes are: I teach classes that encourage students to focus inward and to listen to the their bodies. I focus on the breath to stop the chatter in the mind and combine challenging postures with nurturing postures to promote body awareness and self care.
What brought me to yoga: I originally started practicing to compliment my fitness routine but soon realized the mental and spiritual benefits to a regular yoga practice.
Favorite pose (and why): There are so many poses that are beneficial in different ways but my favorite is Tree Pose (Vriksasana). Balancing postures such as Tree posture force my mind to focus on the present. The more my mind wanders the less stable I feel, it’s a pose where I feel completely engaged in the moment.
Off the mat, I: am married and soon to be mother. I enjoy an eclectic range of interests which include, hiking, reading, being on the beach, traveling, cooking, wine tasting, history, and learning.
Inspiration (a favorite quote or two):
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind“-Dr. Suess
“Don’t gain the world and lose your soul; wisdom is better than silver or gold“-Bob Marley
